Title: An experiment on the cage culture of Catla catla (Hamilton) in Durian Tunggal Reservoir, Malacca [Malaysia]

Abstract: The culture of Catla catla, without supplementary feeding in floating net cages was initiated in June 1986. In the trial, fingerlings of average weight 17.5 g were stocked in 6 cages, each measuring 3.65 x 3.65 x 2.0 m at three different stocking densities of 8, 12, and 18 fish m-3. The fish grew to an average weight of 425.8 g, 415.1 g and 316.4 g respectively after 6 months of culture period. The difference was not significant (P 0.05).
